Hi all. I'm turning 21 next Tuesday which means I'm finally legal to drink here in the US. I've drank a few times before, but haven't really found anything I really like, though I did have some German wine a few months ago that was surprisingly good. Anyone want to reccomend some beers, wines or cocktails for me?

As far as beer goes, I would recommend Carlin, spitfire, john smiths, ginness, carlsburg, becks, sam adams, killieans irish red, dosekkis, 1812. As for coktails, manhattan, martini, gin and tonic, vodka tonic, gin ricky, Bronx cocktail, Moscow mule, Tequilia sunrise, margareeta, etc. One key to a good coktail is using good quality spirits. Bombay gin, bbeef eater's gin, tangaray gin, canadian club whiskey is a good mixer, seegrums blended scotch, jamesons and bush mills irish whiskey are great on the rocks. Sky vodka, Shmernofe vodka, and absolute vodka are good. Many russian and pollish vodkas are good as well. However, don't go and buy the nine dollar a gallon vodka or gin etc at the store. That is garbage. You won't get a quality mixed drink from that. As a general rule, any blue agavai Tequilia will be decent. There are great wines from all over the world now, I like wine from Australia, Italy, France, some Californian, etc. French Champaigne iis quite good, actually, if it doesn't come from the champaigne region of France, then it's technicly a sparkling wine. My recommendations here are by no means my full list! But it will get you started. Happy experimentation. I'm sure you'll find various things you'll love. Sorry for any misspellings.

also, I forgot, for simple drinks, you can't go wrong with rum and coke whiskey and ginger ale, coffee and peppermint shnopps, coffee and baileys, irish coffee, etc. If you are stuck with a sub standard spirit, you can always mix it with soda, club soda, etc.

And, nobody mentions the famous Long island Ice Tea? It's sweet, strong, and you don't need much to get you buzzed. A suggestion though, stay away from beers, they will give you a pott belly.

Hmmm! Medium to sweet white wines like dessert wines and some French one I can't even pronounce, let alone spell, lmfao, Irish coffees, Baileys, Becardie breezer, becardie 'n coke, Reef, (though I find that rather too sweet these days so I'm now drinking red or blue WKDS (wickeds) Pimms, with a nice round slice of apple on top, o, and I forgot the king of adult drinks Red Bull, neat, necked while its cold, lmfao.

Stay away from American beer! What kind of drinks are you in to? I'd be better able to recommend some. Just remember though, beer before liquor, never been sicker; liquor before beer, you're in the clear.

some american beer is good, but it's the local or microbrew beer that is of quality. The mass produced by the millions beers that are exported from the states are good to get drunk from but they don't taste like much of anything. But the microbrews are another story. But as for mainstream beer, or macro brew you might say, I'd go for canadian, european, mexican, or japanese/chinese beer before the American beer titans.

Agree about the microbrew. I love the Stone IPA, mmm.

You know what you do with Red Bull, you fill up a big glass with that, and have a shot of Yagermeister (probably spelled that wrong) and do something called Yager bombs! OK, hold the shot in one hand and the glass of Red Bull in the other, then when you're ready, drop the shot of Yager in the Red bull, and start chugging. You have to do it all at one time though, because otherwise the shot glass might come up and hit you in the face. Believe it or not, the way I found out about this was from Youtube, and I was like, "This is never gonna work!" but it really did. And the best part is it tastes exactly like bubble gum.

Yeah, yager already tastes like candy. Don't really like it myself.

vodka and orange juice called a screw driver. goes really good in my opinion with certain foods or just with a salty snack.
